MauBank has formalised its partnerships with eight non-governmental organisations for the implementation of a total of 12 projects addressing identified needs across education, medical assistance, social inclusion, community support and environmental sustainability in Mauritius and Rodrigues.
At the heart of these partnerships are needs that have a direct bearing on everyday life: whether a child with a disability has the right environment and support to develop greater independence; whether a child in residential care can get to school reliably; whether specialist treatment is within reach when it is needed; or whether an organisation supporting people in vulnerable situations has the resources to keep an essential service running. The projects supported by MauBank respond to these realities through practical interventions, implemented with organisations whose work keeps them closely connected to the communities and needs they serve.
The partnership agreements were signed at MauBank’s premises in Ebène on Thursday 20 August 2026, in the presence of members of the Bank’s Board and leadership team and representatives of the eight partner organisations. During the 2025/2026 financial year, MauBank has allocated MUR 5.5 million to the projects. Its partners are the Association of Disability Service Providers (ADSP), Trevor Huddleston Association in Rodrigues, World Light Kids Villa, Rotary Club of Bagatelle, PAWS Mauritius, We Recycle, Association Rays of Hope and Prévention Information Lutte contre le SIDA (PILS).

Association of Disability Service Providers (ADSP)
Supporting some 90 students with cognitive and physical disabilities, the three interventions combine improvements to the school environment with developmental support. Asphalting works have been completed, occupational therapy is ongoing, and an accessible, weather-protected playground will soon be developed, helping provide safer spaces while supporting students’ independence, participation and everyday development.
Trevor Huddleston Association
Supporting 52 children with severe hearing or speech impairments in Rodrigues, the intervention combines a 12-month Parental Guidance and Teacher Training programme using the Auditory Oral Method with improvements to the learning environment, helping reinforce children’s communication development both at school and at home.
World Light Kids Villa
MauBank has contributed partly towards a 29-seater coaster for 23 children living in residential care, providing safer and more reliable transport to school and extracurricular activities.
Rotary Club of Bagatelle
Specialist consultations and corrective surgeries have provided 20 children affected by strabismus with timely medical assistance to improve their visual health.
PILS
With 549 new HIV infections recorded in Mauritius in 2024, an increase of 43.7% from 2023, prevention remains critical. MauBank is supporting PILS’ six-month sensitization campaign Lasante Seksiel ek Konsomasion Sibstans: Kas Stigma, Konstrir Lasante programme, combining sexual health education, HIV and STI prevention, harm reduction and confidential testing through 12 community sessions expected to reach 600 to 840 people.
Association Rays of Hope
MauBank is supporting the community kitchen operated by Association Rays of Hope through essential kitchen equipment, payment for the rental of the premises and cleaning materials for 12 months.
We-Recycle
The project supports the collection and recycling of plastic and beverage cans, reaching approximately 156,000 people across participating institutions and public spaces. It also supports the operational capacity of the collection network through the funding of two drivers and two helpers for 13 months, enabling the regular collection and transportation of recyclable materials and helping divert waste from landfill.
PAWS Mauritius
MauBank is supporting a 10-day sterilisation and veterinary care programme for more than 200 shelter animals. The initiative takes a preventive approach to uncontrolled breeding while improving the health and welfare of vulnerable animals and encouraging responsible animal care.
