Why Heritage City fizzled out
Nine issues highlighted under two headings in a report submitted to government last week caused the much hyped billions of rupees Heritage City Project to be put aside by the authorities even though Rs 153 million have already been dished out as consultancy fees.
The report prepared by the Senior Adviser of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, and dated 4th August 2016, recommends that those issues be assessed“As a way forward, without undue delay”.
The“report on the Heritage City Project”does not aim at questioning the implementation of the project, writes Gerard Sanspeur following presentations made by the Master planner Stree Consulting meetings with minister of Finance Pravind Jugnauth and directors of Heritage City Co. Ltd respectively late July and earlier this month.
